Neck Rotation

BASE MOVEMENT · HOW TO DO IT

Neck Rotation

Start lighter and use less range than you think you need. The rep should stay smooth from beginning to end.

  1. 01
    Set up

Sit tall with shoulders relaxed and use only your hand or a very light band for resistance.

  2. 02
    Move

Keep the chin level as you turn the head to one side without rotating the shoulders.

  3. 03
    Finish

Stop before pinching, dizziness, or compensation, then return slowly to the middle.

Control rangeRotation

Neck Rotation

Sets: 2–3 · Reps: 8–12 per side

Train the neck to turn smoothly without dragging the shoulders with it.

Control range: Control work builds strength through rotation, balance, or a position you hold steady.

WHY IT EARNS A SPOT

Own the position,
then earn the load.

Rotation completes the major neck actions already covered by flexion, extension, and side-bending. The goal is controlled force through a modest range—not chasing the furthest turn possible.
