Banded Ankle Inversion

BASE MOVEMENT · HOW TO DO IT

Banded Ankle Inversion

Start lighter and use less range than you think you need. The rep should stay smooth from beginning to end.

  1. 01
    Set up

Sit with the lower leg supported and loop a band around the forefoot so it pulls from the outside.

  2. 02
    Move

Keep the shin still and turn the sole inward against the band without curling the toes.

  3. 03
    Finish

Pause at the end, then let the foot return outward slowly while the band stays taut.

Control rangeRotation

Banded Ankle Inversion

Sets: 3 · Reps: 12–20 per side

Strengthen the medial ankle by turning the sole inward under control.

Control range: Control work builds strength through rotation, balance, or a position you hold steady.

WHY IT EARNS A SPOT

Own the position,
then earn the load.

Direct inversion trains the tibialis posterior and other medial stabilizers that help organize the arch and control the ankle.
